TOKYO – Today, Nikon Corporation adds two new teleconverters to its NIKKOR Z range with the Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x and Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x. Convenient and versatile, these Z-mount teleconverters allow you to enjoy ultimate flexibility and explore a wider range of genres for telephoto shooting with the NIKKOR Z lenses. The Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x and Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x can easily realise super-telephoto shooting of a focal length of x1.4 and x2 respectively, while maximising the potential of your existing lens. Photographers can be assured that the pairing of these teleconverters still maintains superb rendering performance, as well as autofocus (AF) and Vibration Reduction (VR) performance, when attached to the main lens in use.

When taking photographs of the scenery around, natural lighting and ambience can be an asset. Photographers have long tried to observe and use natural lighting in the environment to their advantage for amazing photos of landmarks and world wonders. With these teleconverters, there is no need to compromise on image quality as they are designed with intensive consideration of chromatic aberration, tolerance for backlight, distortion, and peripheral illumination.
Trusty, Sophisticated and Practical
In terms of build, both teleconverters are sophisticatedly designed to be the ideal accessory for the photographer who is on the go. Keeping the photographers and their environment in mind, these teleconverters are perfect in any scenario. Simply wipe off the droplets of water or mud that may have splashed onto the lens surfaces as the teleconverters come with the application of fluorine coat with superb anti-fouling performance. Both Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x and Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x have been sealed to protect against dust and water droplets with dust- and drip-resistance similar to the S-Line NIKKOR Z lenses, and a rubber ring incorporated on both the lens and camera ends for additional protection. Furthermore, the application of fluorine coat to its extreme front and rear lens elements enables excellent anti-fouling performance.
Rest easy when out and about as you will never lose your grip with the anti-slip knurling that makes attachment and removal effortless.
Offering ultimate reliability and functionality, the teleconverters are completed and designed with various features to help prevent reverse attachment between the teleconverter and lens and/or camera body. A caution illustration that is printed on the front cap as guide while a protector is also designed to prevent an image sensor or a lens surface from being damaged in the result of a wrong attachment.
NIKKOR Z LENS LINE-UP EXPANSION
Nikon continues to further pursue possibilities that the Z mount system offers as it actively works to enrich the NIKKOR Z lens line-up with a multitude of high-performance lenses that enrich the creator’s creative ambitions. Introducing the NIKKOR Z lens line-up expansion to 2021, with the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S that is scheduled to be released this year.
 As of the release date, “main lens” refers to the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S only.
When the TC-1.4× is used, effective aperture decreases by one stop. When the TC-2.0× is used, effective aperture decreases by two stops.
 Mounting lenses on a teleconverter reduces their speed (effective aperture, or “brightness”): by 1 stop in the case of the TC-1.4× and by 2 stops in the case of the TC-2.0×.
 Thorough dust- and drip-resistance is not guaranteed in all situations or under all conditions.
 The S-Line is a newly designated grade of NIKKOR Z lenses that adhere to a new benchmark in optical performance, creating new definitions of design principles and quality control.
